Marriage is the beginning of so many new things, and a relaxing honeymoon is a wonderful way to start with. After the beautiful wedding chaos, we escaped to Maldives - a place too beautiful to be true!

I had Maldives on my wish list for too long, and while planning the honeymoon, I just knew it was time to tick it. Although the final decision was after a discussion with my husband, it took me only a while to convince him. While he gave me other options, I was stuck with Maldives - rooting for it with all my heart and soul - and in the end, he gave in (of course, he had to).

Soon after deciding our honeymoon destination, we started to search for a perfect travel partner. And we just got lucky with finding and choosing Myholidays from all the online travel agencies (OTA) that we came across.

Without wasting any time, I reached out to its experts for Maldives honeymoon packages from Qatar. Of all, we selected the Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort package for 5 unforgettable days, which came with a personalized itinerary, luxurious accommodations, airport transfers, and full-board meals.

Maldives is a destination that makes everyone go weak. And I am no different. Just one glance at the majestic landscape from the plane and I literally forgot how tired I was. All I could think of was ‘dreams do come true’ and Maldives was surely the most beautiful one.

To be honest, our honeymoon trip in the Maldives was everything we could ask for! We absolutely loved every bit of it - the journey, delicious breakfasts, romantic sunsets, and everything else.

Beyond that, it gave us time to create memories together, fall in love all over again, and so many postcard-worthy pictures (can’t wait to post them).

But none of it could have been possible without Myholidays. And this travelogue is a little piece of my heart - filled with love, laughter, and magical moments that will stay etched in our minds forever. Read on...

Day 1: Arrival in Maldives

Arrival in Maldives

As we arrived at Hamad International Airport (DOH), I could barely believe it was happening - I was going to the Maldives.

With my husband by my side, I boarded a direct flight from Doha to Male and after a journey of 4 hours and 35 minutes, we landed in paradise.

While we walked out of Velana International Airport (MLE), our footsteps seemed to have caught speed. Right there at the exit was our tour executive, already waiting to receive us. After warm greetings, he led us to Noovilu Seaplane Terminal where we hopped onto a seaplane. The check-in was smooth and the journey even smoother.

As our seaplane hovered over turquoise waters, my eyes widened, and I could feel my heart thumping faster than ever. White sand beaches surrounded by ocean waves and lush greenery - it was a view straight out of fairytale.

Post a 45-minute journey, we arrived at the 5-star The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, prebooked with Maldives holiday packages from Myholidays. The resort staff welcomed us with flower garlands and warm smiles followed by some refreshing drinks.

After check-in formalities, a few staff members escorted us to our Deluxe Beach Villa - very spacious, equipped with a king-size bed, unparalleled privacy, and breathtaking views. It had a huge bathroom with an outdoor shower and a private terrace to enjoy the beauty of the place.

The journey had been a little tiring, so we took a short nap before immersing ourselves in the beauty of Maldives. When we woke up, it was time for dinner already.

We were served dinner at one of the resort’s elegant dining venues, as per the full-board meal plan. My husband chose to have a Mediterranean meal, while I went for a seafood platter. And trust me, the food was super delicious.

The night ended with us lying under the blanket of stars, while soft rhythmic waves outside seemed to sing us a lullaby to sleep.

Day 2: Deluxe Beach Villa Stay - Explore & Relax

Deluxe Beach Villa Stay - Explore & Relax

The first morning in Maldives felt like we were in heaven. The sunlight shining through the sheer curtains and the sound of the ocean woke us up. The sea outside looked endlessly blue, as if someone had painted the entire world into ocean hues.

After freshening up, we spent time enjoying the beautiful view from our terrace with a cup of coffee. The cool breeze blowing through our hair gave us a fresh start to the day.

Then we headed to one of the resort’s restaurants for a full-board breakfast, which served us a variety of freshly prepared dishes. We sat facing the ocean, relishing our delicious meal and making plans for the day.

Later in the morning, we got ready for kayaking and without wasting any time made our way to the designated spot. Gliding over crystal-clear waters in a kayak injected a rush of excitement within. We paddled at our own pace, occasionally stopping to marvel at the marine life visible just below the surface.

Back in our room, we freshened up and moved for lunch. The afternoon menu had both international and local cuisine, which allowed us to enjoy diverse flavors in a dream-like setting.

The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging by the private pool attached to our villa. We had fresh juice, read books, and just enjoyed basking in the sun.

As the day dozed off, we went for a peaceful walk along the beach, taking every step hand in hand. The sound of the waves under the night sky created magic, and there it was just the two of us, enjoying each other’s company.

Day 3: Shift from Deluxe Beach Villa to Overwater Pool Villa

Overwater Pool Villa

The morning of our third day in Maldives began with a delicious breakfast. Then, we checked out of our Deluxe Beach Villa and moved into an Overwater Pool Villa nearby.

When we stepped into our villa, the only thing I could utter was - beautiful! Our new stay looked something out of a fairytale. The spacious accommodation with luxurious interiors, a private pool, and an expansive private deck was perfect for enjoying privacy amidst the vast ocean.

That afternoon, we went snorkeling together - I literally had wanted to do this for a long time. The underwater world was just so unreal. With colorful fish, corals, and other creatures floating around, I could only be amazed and scream with excitement.

As the sun began to lower, painting the sky in soft pink and gold, we sat by the pool with our feet dipped in water. Everything felt surreal. There was nothing else we wished for at that moment. Just us and the magnificent view from the villa above the sea.

After dinner, we sat on the terrace of our villa, watching the calm ocean and starlit sky. Soon thereafter, we were in our Deluxe Beach Villa, sleeping peacefully.

Day 4: Leisurely Bliss and Ocean Whispers

Leisurely Bliss and Ocean Whispers

The gentle waves of the ocean were our alarm that morning. Soft shimmering sun rays seemed to dance on the blue waters beneath our Overwater Pool Villa. It felt like we were floating in a dream.

After a slow start on the fourth day, we walked to the resort’s restaurant for a leisurely breakfast - fresh tropical fruits, warm pastries, and coffee - with endless views of the Indian Ocean.

Most of the morning after breakfast was spent doing nothing. While I was busy reading a book, my husband took a refreshing dip in our private pool. And a few moments later, he pulled me along - as well plunged into the pool, water splashed into the air, and we burst into laughter together.

In the afternoon, we headed to the resort’s onsite restaurant for lunch. There we had a lavish full-board meal that combined international and Maldivian dishes, each prepared and served beautifully. The aroma of the food on the table had me literally dig into it - and it was absolutely worth it!

The latter part of the day was reserved for a bit of thrills and fun. We signed up for jet skiing in Maldives. Riding the waves in a water scooter literally leveled up our holiday experience.

Later we tried our hand at traditional Maldivian line fishing, guided by the local crew who shared their stories and techniques with us. I tried catching fish with a single line and hook but could get just one after a million failed tries. However, the entire activity was peaceful, grounding, and surprisingly meditative.

As the day melted into golden hues, we boarded a sunset dolphin cruise - an experience I will never forget and would really wish to enjoy again.

The sky was lit in gorgeous shades of orange and lavender while playful dolphins danced ahead of our boat as if they were trying to guide us the way. While we sailed back, these creatures kept leaping in and out of the water putting up a farewell show for us.

At night, the staff served us dinner in an intimate setting on the beach. The glow of the lanterns, gentle breeze of the sea, and reflection of moonlight on water created a magical atmosphere. As we sat holding hands, the sound of water added music to our perfect date night.

Everything in that moment felt still and beautiful, as if time had paused to let us live a little longer in the moment. Post dinner, we walked back to our villa to rest.

Day 4 in Maldives felt like something out of a romantic novel, filled with peaceful, playful and intimate moments. It was a day we both are going to cherish in our hearts forever.

Day 5: Departure Day - Goodbye, Maldives!

Departure Day

Waking up to last sunrise in the Maldives felt like closing a chapter we never wanted to end. But that’s how life is - things end and open ways for something more beautiful.

We took one last quiet walk along the wooden boardwalks, feeling the gentle ocean breeze brushing on our faces and the sound of waves somehow etching into our memories.

After breakfast at an onsite restaurant, we headed back to our villa with slow footsteps. We reluctantly started folding our clothes and packing our luggage. In that moment, our hearts felt heavy yet full. Considering our scheduled flight, we checked out of the resort and the staff bid us farewell with smiles and heartfelt wishes.

As we departed for Velana International Airport (MLE) via seaplane, the resort slowly faded into the distance but the moments we shared here were going to stay with us forever.

Our executive dropped us off at the airport with goodbye. After a smooth check-in, we got onto a direct flight from Male to Doha and flew back safely to our hometown. That’s how our honeymoon trip ended with moments still lingering fresh in our minds.
