You will check into your hotel after arriving in Tirana, and then you will be taken to Tamar in North Albania, passing through the city of Shkoder. You will start your hiking journey through the Balkan Peaks from Tamare. After an eventful first day, you will reach the quaint village of Lpush, famed for its breathtaking scenery and wonderful resting place. The yellow flower that blooms there in the spring is referred to by the name "push." You will hike to the Talijanka Peak first, then Vuthaj will be your next stop. Get ready to travel to Theth from Vuthaj and pass back into Albania from there. You will stop at a secret water source on this trek. You will also drive past Jezerca Peak, one of the tallest mountains in the Balkans, and Arapi Peak. In the Albanian Alps, we will see a lot of shepherd's huts that demonstrate a primitive way of life. We will tour Theth's Old Church and "Lock in" Tower, which serves as the city's emblem. From Cerem, you will hike towards Doberdol following a mule track. On your way, you will cross the border to Montenegro for about two hours. The hike brings us through pine forests and you can find all kinds of berries, such as blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. You will also pass the only National Reserve in Albania, which has brown bears and the last population of approximately 40 lynxes in the Balkans. Overnight in a shepherd’s hut in Doberdol.
Get ready to hike to the highest peak of Kosovo, Gjeravica. It is also the second-highest peak of the Accursed Mountains. From the top, you will see the Accursed Mountains on one side and the Sharr Mountains on the other. You will have the opportunity to swim in three different lakes, formed by the alpine and glacier waters. One of the lakes really stands out as it is heart-shaped. You will arrive in Junik, a town in western Kosovo. From Junik onward, you will have to go by 4x4 wheel drive to Gjakova. Overnight in a hotel in Gjakova.
